The Northern Line Dance Extravaganza was inspired by the Auckland Line Dance Festival (2023), and something that Damian Sutton has dreamed of bringing to life for some time.

The Extravaganza is hosted by the newly formed New Zealand Line Dance Legacy Trust, a registered charity whose formal, not-for-profit structure is dedicated to promoting and growing line dancing in New Zealand, supporting dancers and clubs, organising events, providing education pathways, and fostering community participation.
